Mit der SCHUMA-Umschaltklappe erfolgt die Qualitätssicherung direkt im Ausfallschacht der Spritzgussmaschine. Die Separierung erfolgt über ein Rutschblech, welches die Rutschrichtung pneumatisch nach vorne oder nach hinten verändern kann. Positioniert im Ausfallschacht erhält die USK nach jedem Schuss ein Signal der Spritzgussmaschine, ob der Schuss gut oder schlecht ist. Bei einem Signal für „Schuss schlecht“ schaltet die USK um und die Schlechtteile rutschen in anderer Richtung ab. Fällt das Signal ab, schwenkt die Umschaltklappe wieder in die Ausgangslage zurück.
